Fall 2026 Sept. 15th, 22nd, 29th Oct. 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th Nov. 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, Dec. 1st, 8th (13 Days) Fee: $455+$40 (Sibling 1 $425+$40, Sibling 2 $400+$40) Winter 2027 Jan. 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th Feb. 2nd 9th, 16th, 23rd March 2nd, 9th (10 Days) Fee: $350+$40 (Sibling 1 $325+$40, Sibling 2 $300+$40) Spring 2027 March 16th, 23rd, 30th April 6th, 13th, 20th, (No Class 27th Spring Break) May 4th, 18th, 25th, June 1st (10 Days) Fee: $350+$40 (Sibling 1 $325+$40, Sibling 2 $300+$40) Class Description:This class will follow a one-room schoolhouse format, with students of varied ages learning together. Younger students will cover topics at an introductory level, and older students will develop the same topics at a more advanced level. For example: younger students will work with circular equations by graphing them, and older students will calculate the intersection points of these circles and lines by using algebra. Students of different ages will work together to share what they know and to solve different parts of the same exercises. Topics will include: arithmetic skills needed for algebra, introductory algebra with lines and curves, word problems, graphing, simultaneous equations, inequalities, quadratic equations, trigonometry (using triangles to figure out distances and angles) and calculus, the math of motion and limits. Students will cover topics at a level that is appropriate to their prior knowledge, and will experience further applications that will show them what awaits in future classes. I will tailor the class so that every student encounters new material. We’ll discuss real-life examples and do word problems to make the math concepts clear, and explore the history of algebra and geometry as well. We’ll try to present exercises in picture and 3-D form as often as possible, since numbers are only one way to depict math concepts. This class will include an additional homework Zoom each week as well; we’ll schedule the Zoom meeting once in-person classes
