Our day will start with circle time where students will welcome the day with seasonal songs, music, movement and meditation. The focus will include stories and readings relating to nature, science, math and emotional well being. Students will engage in hands-on art and science projects every week. There will also be opportunities for the class to help tend our community garden in the Ramone Aponte Playground. Teacher’s Bio: Onalee is an accomplished educator and artist. She has 20 years experience teaching in NYC working as a 6th grade public school teacher, running after school programs and tutoring students of all ages. Her career as a professional artist: face & body painter, portrait & mural painter & balloon artist has allowed her to travel internationally bringing her art to Mexico and Australia. Onalee has been bringing her passion for secular, inclusive, progressive, decolonized education to the homeschool community for five years educating her brothers children and organizing a co-op for 20 homeschool families. Her education includes a BA of Fine Arts from Boston College and a New York City Teaching Fellowship.
