Fall 2023 Sept. 13th, 20th, 27th Oct. 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th Nov. 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th Dec. 6th (12 days) (No Class Wednesday Nov. 22d Thanksgiving Break) Fee: $420 + $30 Material fee per term Winter 2024 Jan. 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st Feb. 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March 6th, 13th (10 days) Fee: $350 + $30 Material fee per term Spring 2024 March 20th, 27th April 3rd, 10th, 17th May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th (10 days) (No Class April 24th Spring Break) Fee: $350+ $30 Material fee per term Class Description: This class will review the math skills needed for algebra: basic operations, exponents, percent, decimals, fractions, negative numbers, and order of operations. Then we will jump into algebra, the basis of all advanced math. Algebra uses letters in place of numbers whose values are not known – this lets math students discover missing information. Our topics will include equations with one unknown quantity, equations with two unknown quantities, graphing lines, inequalities, and solving two equations at the same time. We’ll discuss real-life examples and do word problems to make the math concepts clear, and explore the history of algebra as well.
