Hi I’m Omar! I’ve had the pleasure of teaching and being part of the amazing Different Directions community since 2021, and I’m looking forward to another amazing year!
This year I’ll continue teaching Acting Out A Musical, Music Composition, and will be bringing back Stage Combat classes at two different levels.
I was lucky enough to grow up and learn the value of a strong community and arts education, and I fell in love with being part of providing that for others. When I’m not teaching at Different Directions I’m working as a teaching artist/music director at Rosie’s Theater Kids, and when I’m not teaching I work as a composer and performer. I love telling stories, whether it’s by scoring music for film, TV, or games, composing for musical theater, or by performing. I believe the stories we tell, and how we tell them, can be transformative. I’m deeply passionate about being a part of that transformation, through the writing/composing process, performing, or through guiding others on their artistic journeys!

Wednesdays:
Music Composition (ages 13-18) —> 9:00 - 10:30
Stage Combat I (ages 12-14) —> 11:00 - 12:00
Stage Combat II (ages 14-18) —> 1:30 - 2:30
Fridays:
Acting Out A Musical (ages 14-18) co-taught with Mary Albert —> 1:30 - 4:30
