Different Directions
It takes a village...

Different Directions Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit community and resource center. We are a collective of parents, families, educators, artists, and professionals who organize classes together with the goal of providing social, academic, and extracurricular enrichment to homeschooling families. The majority of our organizers and teachers are homeschooling parents who have created classes and events around their special skill sets for the benefit of our homeschooled children and community. Different Directions is a great way to meet like-minded families who have taken the homeschooling path.

Our collective is dedicated to creating and supporting holistic, learning, enrichment experiences for the whole family.

We are not a school.  We do not provide a comprehensive school program — we provide support.  It is the responsibility of the parents and families of each child who attends classes to know and implement the homeschooling compliance laws of their state of residence.

The classes, workshops, social events, and gatherings are offered in such a way that you can choose the experience that best fits your family’s homeschooling program. Peruse our website; if you find a class, event, or workshop that interests you, click on the inquiry button for that item.  The teacher/organizer will get back to you directly. After you have chosen your class(es) you can then register with Different Directions through the online registration form.

Since our inception we have served over 1000 families in the homeschooling community. We work together to organize classes, theatre productions, teen events, and parent & family continuing-education workshops. We provide support in college application preparation, helping families acclimate and find their way on their unique homeschooling journey. We work together to make this a safe, nurturing space for children and their families to find connections, friendships, and community. We at Different Directions embrace the idea that "it takes a village," and we have created our village in the middle of Manhattan.
