Fall 2023 Sept. 13th, 20th, 27th Oct. 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th Nov. 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th Dec. 6th (12 days) (No Class Wednesday Nov. 22d Thanksgiving Break) Fee: $450 + $35 Material fee per term Winter 2024 Jan. 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st Feb. 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March 6th, 13th (10 days) Fee: $375 + $35 Material fee per term Spring 2024 March 20th, 27th April 3rd, 10th, 17th May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th (10 days) (No Class April 24th Spring Break) Fee: $375+ $35 Material fee per term Class Description: This class will cover the basics of economics: How supply and demand models work and how GDP, inflation, and unemployment are defined and measured. We will also discuss monetary, fiscal and regulatory policy, leaning heavily on historical experience. This course will also emphasize the skills need to communicate and understand economic information with graphs. Beyond these fundamental topics, the course will follow the interests of class members. There is a half hour break between each High School class. High School aged DD students are welcome to use the teen/teacher lounge and waiting area to eat, socialize, do home work etc. between classes. This is for high school students only. Students in the lower grade classes need to be registered in our Down Time Program or picked up immediately after their class is completed.
