Service Description

Acting Out Modern Masters is a script study and analysis as well as an acting technique class. This year we will read, and analyze scripts from the cinema industry, watch their corresponding films and explore the history of the time the film was made and the life of the screenwriter. We’ll look into works by people such as Dorothy Parker, Orson Welles, Horton Foote Jr. and Spike Lee. During the course of our study we will track how history affected cinema and cinema affected history. Our year end project will be a short original film collaborated on by the class. High School aged DD students are welcome to use the teen/teacher lounge and waiting area to eat, socialize, do home work etc. between classes. This is for high school students only. Students in the lower grade classes need to be registered in our Down Time Program or picked up immediately after their class is completed.
