Are you looking for a place to play music with other budding musicians? Is your instrument sitting next to your bed waiting for you to pick it up? Is your mom threatening to sell your guitar if you don't start practicing? We have the answer for you. Join KIDS JAM, a jam session for young musicians, that explores musical improvisation. Meet other people starting their musical journey, learn and practice the fundamentals of musical improvisation from pianist and composer Martin Wallace. Dust off that instrument your parents paid a fortune for and come make music with your friends.
The group will start exploring improvisation through jazz standards and add more musical genres as Martin discovers the interest of the students. Kids Jam will give you a place to hone your chops, strengthen your musical theory knowledge and connect with other musically inclined people. Here you will understand why your music teacher keeps telling you to practice those scales and keeps asking you, “do you know what key you are in?” You do not have to be an expert musician to join this group, beginners are welcome. You will need to bring an instrument, however the space has an upright piano.
