A Closer Look (Science)

10:00am-11:30am Wednesdays     Ages 8-10

Children are scientists at heart,the world is a giant lab and everyday is an experiment. This is a three term class. In the fall we will explore the geology of our planet, investigating the minerals, energy and changes of the little blue marble we call home. In the winter we will explore the earth’s water ways, rivers, oceans, lakes and water cycle. In the Spring our attention will turn to the evolution of life on space ship earth.

Teacher: Tinamarie Panyard

Tinamarie Panyard is a professional storyteller (and mom to her delightful daughter Lottie). She has been working with children and adults throughout the country for over 25 years.  She spent 20 years in New York public and private schools as a teaching artist working with children and families, teaching geography, cultural studies, facilitating literacy, family literacy workshops and community building through drama, puppetry, mask making and storytelling.  Tinamarie has toured through schools around the country working with children on violence prevention and literacy programs. She was the Fringe Jr. Director of the New York International Fringe Festival for three years.  She also did a stint on Wall Street as a corporate writer. She has been the Operating Director of Different Directions since 2013.
